These delightful carvings bring Jolly Old Saint Nick into your home through repurposing one of Maine’s most identifiable symbols – the buoy. This Small Hand Carved Santa Buoy is carved from wooden lobstering buoys by a Maine native who started carving when he was a small boy. His Santas were inspired when his wife asked him to carve her a Santa as a Christmas present in 1987, and since 1991 he has been carving Santas full-time. Each Santa is hand painted with a merry dimples, a nose like a cherry and a twinkle in each eye.
