Description
The Ruth Bader Ginsburg Mask is created by Lisa-Marie’s team-member, Katy, in Bath, Maine. After being removed from the stores due to COVID-19 and staying at home to homeschool her two young children, she had to find a creative outlet – what better way than to make masks to help keep us safe during this pandemic.
All fabrics are 100% cotton and have been pre-washed. Comes with a removable nose wire (which is already inserted). Remove nose wire for washing. Can be replaced with pipe cleaners or twist ties. There is a double layer of cotton so you can insert your own filter if desired. Insert can be things like: paper towel, coffee filter, cotton fabric or a HEPA filter (best option – think furnace, vacuum or air conditioner.) Make sure to use the pocket with the HEPA filter to keep a layer of fabric between wearer and the filter since most HEPA filters contains fiberglass. Make sure to change filter between wearings.
Basic laundry care is suggested: Machine wash cool, tumble dry low. If you prefer to wash by hand: suds with soap for at least 20 seconds in warm or hot water then dry in dryer. For additional peace of mind: iron on cotton setting (high heat) to kill any remaining germs. Katy’s research says the detergent and “agitation” of the wash will help kill germs. No need to machine wash on super hot, that will just break down your fabric quicker. The CDC (and Good Housekeepingš) say wash and dry often.
