Granulated Maple Sugar made by Cooke’s Maple Farm – Mission Statement
To make the best maple syrup we can, practicing organic as much as possible.
To educate the public about the maple syrup process, its nutritional benefits, uses and delicious taste.
George and Kate are the cooks behind Cooke’s Maple Farm though the real stars of their show are the maple trees that reside on their farm and neighboring properties. While George has made maple syrup for many years as a hobby, giving lots of syrup as gifts to friends and family, to sell their syrup is a new venture for the couple. They started in 2015 followed by learning, learning and more learning. They’re still learning how to make the process more efficient, upgrading their systems, defining what it is they want as a business, and figuring out what their customers desire.
One way they are carving their niche in the maple syrup market is with glass bottles and jars for the syrup, maple cream and maple sugar. The way the syrup sparkles and shines through the glass makes you think of amber gemstones. They’re constantly evaluating the types or styles of the glass bottles. Their laser-etched bottles with iconic Maine symbols like the lobster moose and lighthouse are particularly popular.
