At Pemaquid Beach, youโll find the beautiful combination of Maine landscape and beach fun. Tucked away near Bristol, Maine, the “sister” park to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park is this โpocket beachโ (as scientists call it.) It presents a unique opportunity to enjoy a sugary, white sand beach as well as clean, clear water in mid coast Maine. Places like Pemaquid Beach are just a small taste of how incredible a Maine summer can be. As a member of the Healthy Beaches program, Pemaquid tests as one of the cleanest on Maineโs coast. Daily grooming ensures that the beach remains pristine and ready for your summer fun! Owned by the town of Bristol, Pemaquid Beach is a local favorite and has been for many years. Amenities to make your time there more convenient include changing rooms, shower rooms, outdoor showers, a beach shop, snack shack, a community room with a full kitchen, and a fun nature center!
Since 2003, the Parks Commission has been partnered with the Pemaquid Watershed Association to offer a unique nature center called “Beachcombers’ Rest”. Located inside the beach pavilion, the nature center features exhibits and displays describing the ecology of the beach. Right next to Beachcombers’ Rest, inside the pavilion, is the Community Room. This space is equipped with tables and chairs to accommodate up to 60 people. In addition, the Community Room is outfitted with a full kitchen, including an oven, stove, grill, refrigerator and sink.
