When Portland Downtown puts on a holiday event, we show up – with bells on!
This year, one of our amazing team members even dressed as Santa *insert the classic Buddy the Elf quote: “Santa! I KNOW HIM!“* and brought smiles to SO many!
Uncommon Paws
The Lisa-Marie elf romped down the block from Lisa-Marie’s Made in Maine and made a stop at Uncommon Paws. You can find interesting, high quality products for your four-legged friend(s) made with the best, sustainable, natural materials that will last for more than just one season. They work with expert Maine craftspeople to create many of their products and we love that!

D. Cole Jewelers
Just down the street you’ll find another family-owned and operated business where you’re likely to encounter Dean, Denise, Ryan or Emily who will help you find the most perfect piece of jewelry for that special someone. They’ve been on Exchange Street for over 40 years and have become a fine jewelry mecca and true staple to the Portland Downtown community.
Inspiration abounds in every case in their spacious store sparkling with a variety of jewelry in all price ranges. The cases are filled with platinum, gold, sterling silver and glittering gemstones… beautiful items of jewelry for all of life’s events, large and small. Featuring simple charms to exquisite custom-made diamond rings and amazing customer service.
Sheepscot River Pottery
Sheepscot River Pottery is a fellow made in Maine business that opened their Moulton Street location just recently. Check them out for fun home decor as well as Maine made pottery. They’ve been in business since 1974 and is now a second-generation, women-owned-and-operated! Their pottery is handcrafted and hand-painted in-house by their team of artists.
Old Port Card Works
Gotta love another family-owned business started in 2010 in the Old Port! They’ve got fun and funky cards, t-shirts, stickers, wrapping paper and so much more.
Of course this elf was drawn to the Buddy the Elf card.
Old Port Candy Company
Anna started Old Port Candy Company fresh out of college and we’re so glad she never stopped! Since 2002, they’ve been supplying Portland with nostalgic, creative, and hard-to-find candy for customers of all ages. We LOVE seeing Maine candy makers on their shelves as well!
Of course, our elf found the Maine made chocolate by La Nef Chocolate which is made in Bath, Maine!
LeRoux Kitchen
Down on Commercial Street you’ll find this two-story kitchen store. It was jam-packed full of foodies during Merry Madness so we didn’t get much further inside the door than these sweet Santa chocolates.
Today LeRoux is more than just a great home & kitchen supply store. Rather, the assortment of products and ingredients they sell serve as components for something larger, allowing their customers to create unique experiences for themselves, their friends and their family through the preparation and enjoyment of food.
Maine Potters Market
Our Bath shop is 4x the size of our Portland location so we carry a lot more there, including tons of pottery. So it’s nice to have Maine Potters Market just around the corner from 35 Exchange Street, where you can find the work of 14 different Maine potters.
Our elf was drawn to this mug by Robbi of Maine Lane Pottery who has sold her work with Lisa-Marie’s for many years!
Market Square Jewelers
While not a local business, Market Square Jewelers sure is a fun one to peek around. The focus in their Portland location has been to fill it with their most eclectic items. Think cool, vintage broaches and giant gemstone earrings. Our elf couldn’t help herself as she perused the sparkles in the window.
Treehouse Toys
What better place for an elf to find herself than a toy store! Just a few storefronts up the street from us you’ll find a fantastic store for the littles in your life. They opened back in 1998 and are a destination for lovers of legos, kites, stuffed animals, books, fun for your backyard or the beach and of course games and puzzles.
Salt Cellar
Where can you find the perfect seasoning for your pizza crust, a specialty cutting board, lotion for your hands, a nightlight for your baby’s room AND a place to kick back and relax ALL in one stop?
The Salt Cellar is where!
We love being a part of this vibrant community and are grateful for the opportunities to support our friends and neighbors. We loved seeing new and returning faces for this year’s event and we can’t wait to figure out how to spread even more cheer next year!
