Maine in Minnesota: Marissa’s “Maine” Road Trip Necessities

Hiya! 👋

My name’s Marissa – I’m the one behind the screen typing away, and I love being able to share stories and all the deets about the amazing Maine products and Makers Lisa-Marie’s promotes. I recently road-tripped with my husband & two rescue pups from Maine to Minnesota, and while packing I realized I wanted to make sure to showcase the Maine made travel necessities I couldn’t leave without. Here’s a glimpse of my pack-list (some I didn’t snag a photo of…mostly because it was  24+ hour drive, and we were too hungry to wait):

Olde Haven Farm Preserves

With a wide variety of creative & delicious flavors, it’s a struggle to choose just one. As a cherry fan, I went with Cherry Amaretto and lemme tell ya – it did NOT disappoint. Tart cherries offset by rich, nutty amaretto liqueur. Spread on fire-grilled toast. *chefs kiss*

Waking Up to the Smell of Blueberry Coffee ☕

If you’re a coffee drinker – & willing to be a little adventurous – try this delicious Blueberry Cobbler Coffee by Carrabassett Coffee Company. With its subtle, sweet flavor, you could drink it black, or with a splash of your preferred creamer. It’s warm, tasty, and comforting – the smell alone with make you feel like you’re in a field of wild Maine blueberries!

Wheeeeeere’s Captain Eli? 🔍

Little felted Captain Eli came along for the ride to get a taste of the Great Lakes. While he enjoyed the canoe ride, he’s happy to be back hoME by the salty sea.

Hiking Essentials (don’t forget the snacks!)

We hiked Carlton & Tofte Peak while camping in the Superior National Forest.
To prep, we packed waters for us and the dogs, two apples, a bag of trail mix, and a roll of crackers to snack on when we reached the top. I snuck in a box of Wilbur’s Chocolate Covered Blueberries as a surprise post-hike reward.
Let’s just say, they didn’t last long once we opened the box…

Ripley‘s
Lobster Trap Dog Bowl

Sturdy and just the right height, Ripley’s blue lobster trap bowl was a necessity for our trip.
These dog bowls are lightweight &
easy to clean and refill.

He and his sister Lucy stayed happy & hydrated throughout our travels, and felt pretty special with their own piece of Maine along for the ride!
