The Blue Baby Booties are cut and stitched to order by Molly Angie, in her home studio in Maine.
The outside shells are made from various fabrics, which are natural fibers like cotton, linen or wool. The lining material is always organic cotton fleece so that the layer cuddling your baby’s sweet feet is soft, cushiony, and free from the harsh pesticides used in cotton farming. There is a layer of natural cotton batting layered into the sole of the bootie for extra stability and comfort. They have grippy bottoms to help babies and toddlers move with security and ease. They are machine washable and dry-able in cold water and low tumble dry settings. Hand wash and air dry for longest life. All materials are pre washed and dried.
Molly started sewing when she was about 12 years old. At 15 she began to sell her first pieces of clothing (peasant blouses and patchwork tanks) in bohemian shops in upstate NY. She went on to study and receive a BFA in Graphic Design. But…she always came back to sewing. She loves the tactile nature of sewing; how you start with many pieces and step by step you join them together to create one carefully made finished product, and its all happening between your fingertips!
Molly lives in Maine where she has a beautiful family and works from a sweet home studio beneath a 150 year old oak tree. For many years now she has done sewing production for other small local companies. And now she runs her own! Like a patchwork quilt, it all gets pieced together.
