There you have it! Now go on, plan your trip – and don’t forget to stop by and visit us in-person in Portland or Bath!

Take ME to the Mountains

It’s a cold, clear morning in March, and we’re here to bring you (virtually) to the mountains of Maine! From stunning sterling silver jewelry to intricately detailed prints and jaw-dropping photographs, each of these 3 Maine Makers captures the unique beauty of Maine’s magnificent mountaintops. Keep on reading!

“You dream of snow-covered mountains during the hot nights of July. As the leaves change and the air grows crisp you pray for the white magic to fall from the sky, veiling the surrounding mountains. It is time.”

Bailey DeBiase is a visual artist from Carrabassett Valley, Maine who currently lives in Portland, Maine and manages our Portland shop! Her detailed ink drawings are influenced by memories, both personal and collective.

Processed with VSCO with nc preset

Her work strives to accept the fragility of memory, and create a sense of permanence to moments and times in our lives that are fleeting. She is constantly influenced by her surrounding nature, the changing of seasons, and the complexities of nostalgia.

Some days it just feels better to be surrounded by trees + dirt + rocks + wide open skies. 🙌

Today we’re featuring work inspired by our state’s glorious peaks. Detailed prints by Bailey Debiase Ink ✍️, phenomenal photographs by Benjamin Williamson 📸, and silvery snowcaps by Carrabassett Valley Jewelry🗻.

Step Two : Prepare your bath time beverage

Wild Maine Blueberry Tea Sampler Box

Blueberry Tea

This Sampler from Bar Harbor Tea Company is perfect for the person that enjoys all ranges of caffeine. The box of 15 includes 5 bags of each – Fruit Tea, Green Tea, and Black Tea, all made with Wild Maine Blueberries. Whole leaf, all natural, compostable, plant based teabags with an extra long string are perfect for travel tumblers and today’s larger mugs.

Seaweed Tea, kicked up a notch

Bring your tea time to the next level. Get yourself a bottle of bourbon from Split Rock Distillery and add a splash to your Cup of Sea Maine Seaweed Tea. We like the Sea Smoke black tea for it’s smoky-sweet aroma and a rich, woodsy flavor – like camping by the ocean. Or if your bath is pre-bedtime and you’re wanting to avoid caffeine, try the Sailor’s Cure All for an aromatic blend of spicy ginger and earthy turmeric, plus soothing bladderwrack.

Sea Smoke Seaweed Tea - Cup of Sea Tea

Cobb’s Hill Sugarhouse Cocktail

The Old Fashioned never seems to be a bad choicr and using Maine maple syrup brings it to the next level. Follow this easy recipe…

  • 1/2 ounce maple syrup
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters
  • orange peel for garnish

Add bitters, maple syrup and bourbon to a mixing glass. Stir to chill and dissolve the maple syrup. Add a large ice cube to a rocks glass and strain over.

Step Three : Run a Bath

Sprinkle some Sea Salts

The Lavender Sea Salt Bath Soak from Beedandy is the perfect balance of natural salts and pure essential oils to soothe your mind and nourish your skin. Carefully crafted with natural ingredients, this nourishing soak is exactly what you need for a calming, refreshing experience.

Fizz it up!

Nothing is more satisfying than watching a Miss Moonmaker Bath Fizzie explode when it hits the warm water in your bathtub. Okay, feeling the good stuff inside the fizzie on your skin as it travels through your tub may feel even more satisfying. Whether it’s to soothe, rejuvenate, revive, relax, soothe sore muscles or just give you an all over body-shimmer, there’s a bath fizzie for you.

Lisa-Marie’s 2023 Recap

❄️ WINTER 🧣

The beginning of a new year brings with it a couple of reasons to celebrate – we made it through the holiday season AND end of year inventory, which means we deserve a staff party! It’s such a joy to have the team from both stores together to gather, laugh, eat and drink and take some time to relax together.

The cooler winter months were spent restocking the stores and adding new inventory to our online offerings. Here’s some of the Maine made products that were added to our website in early 2023.

Maine Woods Mugs

Mary and Joe NEVER disappoint. We were excited to add these new Maine Woods Mugs by Devenney Pottery.

DIY Heart Kit

Heather made sure we had these in time for Valentine’s Day and we’re sure glad she did! They are the perfect gift to share a fun experience with someone special, and create a little something to commemorate the event.

Pro tip : Snag a sharpie and sign the back with the date and a little love note for later.

Rare Red Sea Glass

It’s always exciting when Sue is able to find rare shades of red sea glass in her beach combing. These one-of-a-kind pieces are sometimes turned into pendants and brought to us. This dark burgundy piece (with a tiny little pearl above!) got snatched up real fast.

Red Sea Glass Necklace

If you are interested in a pendant made from rare red sea glass, subscribe to the product and you’ll get an email if/when we get another one! Red Sea Glass Necklace

Moose Antler Knives by Uncle Lumpy

Phil forages through the woods of Western Maine in search of antlers naturally shed by the majestic moose that reside there. He then turns the gorgeous bone into the hilt of a knife.

Spruce Moose Earrings

These frosted glass beads are wrapped in sterling silver. Authentic sea glass is becoming harder and harder to find, but maker Sheila has found a way of emulating the surf-tumbled look of sea glass in these delightful little earrings. They are the perfect addition to any outfit!

Flower Petal Jewelry by Simply Tilton

We are thrilled to have new maker, Gabby with us. She specializes in taking vibrant Maine flower blooms and sealing them within resin to create stunning earrings and necklaces.

Stay tuned for what Gabby has in store for 2024…

Hint hint, do you love Maine beaches? 🌊😉

The Hoodie Everyone Wants

You asked and we listened. The First Maine Flag became available on this super-soft green hoodie and immediately became a customer favorite!

Fancy Nancy’s Fun New Pottery

From her mugs impressed with Maine sea shells and evergreen branches to her earring holders glazed in the colors of the Maine seaside, you’ll never find two pieces of Nancy’s pottery to be the same.

We welcomed a lot of new Maine products to the website in the cold beginning months of the year, but we are most excited about

The Most Precious Addition of 2023.

The newest member of the Lisa-Marie’s family was welcomed in February, and though he isn’t quite old enough to work (😉 hehe) he sure is bringing lots of joy to everyone. Lisa-Marie and Andy have been making sure to take some time away from the role of “Store Owners” to take on the even more important role of
“Nana and Pops.”

Marin Skincare

We are so proud to be one of the first Maine retailers to be selling this amazing cream. Maybe you’ve seen it in your social media feed? This Soothing Hydration Cream is made with marine glycoproteins and it’s a remedy for sensitive, itchy, eczema-prone skin. Patrick and Amber created Marin while studying bioengineering at UMaine Orono and we’re so pleased to be supporting these young, Maine entrepreneurs!

Kelley arranges blue, teal, green and clear sea glass juuuuuust right to create the shape of our hoME state.

Maine Yoga Jewelry

We are so excited about this jewelry line made by Jess. These dainty necklaces in silver and gold are SO Maine…. some of them really are the state of Maine!

Jess also casts pendants from REAL MAINE shells. These necklaces are available in Bath and online.

Etched Maine Glassware

Etched Maine Glassware

🎶 Sippin’ away again in Vacationland….

…while it may not be 5 o’clock there is no wrong time of day to use a glass etched by Reclaimed Maine. Available in curvy “wine” shape and simple “beer” shape and etched with designs created by Mainer Mary.

Maine Wooden Buoys

First Maine Flag Buoys and Centerpieces joined our online offerings as well as in store.

We were also THRILLED to have helped arrange the EXTRA EXTRA large buoy centerpiece to be used as a guest book for a Maine wedding. We LOVE this unique idea! Email us if you want one for your Maine wedding guest book.

🍁 FALL 🍂

Celebrating
20 years in Bath, Maine

We can’t believe we’ve had a brick and mortar store on Front Street for TWENTY YEARS! What started as one tiny little storefront at 170 Front Street where Marie and Josh used to hang out after school while Lisa-Marie worked now spreads FOUR storefronts wide and has promoted HUNDREDS of Maine Makers and employing over 20 people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Bath on September 30th to celebrate this momentous occasion and thank you to all that added to the Tribute video for Lisa-Marie and Andy. We wouldn’t be here without all of you and we are so grateful.

👇 Watch the Tribute video here!

Chocolate is BACK!

In the warmer months we remove chocolate from our online offerings because shipping something that melts doesn’t always turn out well. But once the cooler months roll around we are putting it back online, just in time to send your favorite Maine chocolates to your friends for the holidays.

Ready-to-Go Gift Packages

We like to make things as easy for you as possible. So in anticipation of the busy shopping season ahead Lisa-Marie hand picked items to be a part of our Ready-to-Go Gift Packages. While typically only available online it did inspire a few customers to put together some Customized Maine Gift Packages on their own for their friends and family “from away”.

Brand New Images from Benjamin Williamson

We just can’t get enough of Ben’s work and he did not disappoint this year. The weather gave him lots of opportunities for crazy skies and stunning sunsets and boy did he capture them. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with in 2024!

Nature Creations

Tammy arranges Maine shells and colorful pieces of glass to create decorative pieces of art, often featuring flower bouquets.

Marin Lip Treatment

One of the most asked for items in the month of December! Remember that hydration cream in a bright orange bottle from the Spring? Well Marin doubled down and made a Lip Treatment to rival any angry Maine winter storm. Made with the same Marine glycoprotiens but available in TWO options – Unscented and Blueberry French Toast.

Kitty Lamb Mixes

Joining us right before the holidays were these SUPER easy to make and deliciously decadent baking mixes.

  • Fudgy Browie
  • Gooey Pumpkin Cake

The descriptions are accurate, they are in fact Fudgy & Gooey.

Harborworks Beanies

After trying out his popular short- sleeved button downs, Michael asked us if we wanted to try out his beanies. He designed these classic Maine creatures

  • Black Bear on Charcoal Grey
  • Brown Moose on Forest Green
  • Red Lobster on Navy Blue

each stitched into the fold of these warm and comfortable beanies. We only received a few in our Portland store but stay tuned and you just might be able to snag your very own online.

🎄 HOLIDAYS 🧑‍🎄

Shop for a Cause on Small Business Saturday

This year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving we collected donations for the Bath Area Food Bank, then at the end of the day we decided to continue it for a bit longer. Every dollar donated in this time period was matched by Lisa-Marie’s and we were so pleased to be able to support such a vital organization in our small community. Thank you all for your support in this giving season!

Bright Night Bath

This year’s City of Bath Holiday Tradition took place on December 8th and the Lisa-Marie’s elf was out and about discovering all the fun things to do during Bright Night Bath in the City of Ships.

Merry Madness
in Downtown Portland

When Portland Downtown puts on a holiday event, we show up – with bells on!

This year, one of our amazing team members even dressed as Santa *insert the classic Buddy the Elf quote: “Santa! I KNOW HIM!“* and brought smiles to SO many!

Holiday Window Contest Community Choice Winner

We had Gingerbread Candy Land as the inspiration and we are so pleased our hard work creating this sweet winter scene for the Portland Downtown Holiday Window Contest. And thanks to all of our social media friends we won the Community Choice Award! Thank you so much!!
