Lisa-Marie’s Made in Maine is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, screen magnification, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, or other assistive technology.
The standard we work to
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our target. These are the internationally recognised guidelines for making web content usable by people with a wide range of disabilities, and they are the benchmark we measure our own site against.
What we are doing
Accessibility is ongoing work rather than a one-time project. As we build new pages and features, we check them against those guidelines — things like keyboard operability, colour contrast, meaningful text alternatives for images, clear form labels, and a sensible heading structure. When we find something that falls short, we fix it.
We also review existing pages as we touch them, so the site improves steadily rather than all at once.
Where we know we fall short
We would rather tell you plainly than overstate things:
- Third-party content. Parts of our site are provided by outside services — payment and checkout, shipping calculators, embedded social media feeds, and review widgets. We do not control their code, and their accessibility varies. If one of them blocks you, tell us and we will find another way to help you.
- Older content. Some older blog posts and product photographs were added before our current standards were in place, and may be missing image descriptions or use inconsistent heading structure. We are working through these as we go.
- Documents. Any PDFs or downloadable files on the site may not yet be fully accessible. Ask us and we will provide the information in another format.

If any part of this website stops you from finding what you need, buying what you want, or contacting us — please get in touch. You do not need to know the technical cause, and you do not need to use any particular wording. Just tell us what you were trying to do and what happened.
