The Rink at Thompson’s Point

The Thompson’s Point Rink, nestled beneath the iconic Depot Pavilion, offers a one-of-a-kind ice skating experience on the picturesque waterfront of Portland. Skaters are treated to gorgeous views of the Fore River. Beyond the state-of-the-art rink, their Beer garden, warming and VIP areas make it the perfect wintery date to enjoy with your special someone.

Deering Oaks Park

Ice skating at Deering Oaks is a true Portland experience. Strapping on your skates across from the Castle on a cold winter night, with Pandora’s lights reflecting over the ice is an experience not to be missed. Little-known fact: Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington once skated on the Deering Oaks Pond during the filming of “The Preacher’s Wife”. The Parks, Recreation and Facilities crews work to keep the pond clear of snow and groomed for skating throughout the winter.
