Moller descends from a long line of artists, scientists and educators. As a child growing up on Cape Cod, her family provided her with the space and encouragement to connect with the natural world and to develop her creativity in her own unique way. She began hand-crafting beach stone jewelry during the winter of 2011. The inspiration to work with beach stones came to her while she was living aboard a sailboat and exploring the rocky beaches along coastal Maine.
Janet’s intention for her creative work is that it connect with the underlying presence and patterns of balance and harmony inherent in our surrounding environment. These beautiful natural forms and patterns inspire her; and along with the phenomena of the tangible and intangible worlds, combined with creative expression and the intricacies of relationship, are at the heart of what she does.
Each pair of earrings or pendant necklace has been carefully hand-crafted from a surf-tumbled New England beach stone, sterling silver and/or a genuine leather cord; and every stone has been intricately hand-painted with abstract, organic designs inspired by nature, making each necklace a unique one-of-a-kind piece.
